JAKARTA – Last weekend, the condition of Indonesian badminton player in the 1980s, Verawati Fajrin, went viral. He was waiting in line to get intensive treatment for his lung cancer.

Rosiana Tendean, a former badminton athlete, told VOI about the condition of her colleague, Verawaty Fajrin. According to him, achievements in youth do not need to be given many prizes. But he hopes to get attention also in the old age of athletes who have achieved achievements by carrying the name of Indonesia.

"Maybe the government's help is (needed) in his old age, you know. Just a Healthy Indonesia Card or just a health card. Because when you are young, no one thinks you want to get sick," said Rosiana Tendean.

Rosiana does not expect prizes, but provides health facilities in the old age of the athletes. Not only for badminton athletes, he hopes that these facilities will be provided to all athletic fields.

“But on that journey, if you are sick, it will take up everything. Like Mrs. Vera, you don't need a charter, all kinds of haornas. What he needs right now is treatment," added Rosiana.

Rosi replayed her memory. The last time I saw Vera, she was healthy and fit last March. But after falling ill, Rosi received a Whatsapp message from Vera in August for her birthday. Vera sent a message containing a happy birthday.

"Sis Vera left a message to her husband. Maybe you can tell Rosi about her condition. And sent a very pathetic photo. I looked so heartless. I really don't have the heart," said Rosi when she received a message containing a photo from Verawaty Fajrin's husband.

The news of Verawaty Fajrin's illness was uploaded by Rosiana Tendean on Sunday, 19 September. The female athlete with the nickname 'Queen of Badminton' is currently receiving intensive care at the Dharmais Cancer Hospital, Palmerah, West Jakarta.
