The Older The More Content, Iwan Fals Works Through Various Media In The Pandemic Period

JAKARTA - During the pandemic, Iwan Fals admitted that his gig activities had decreased quite a lot. However, he is still active in activities that are not far from the arts, one of which is painting.

This can also be seen in the music video for the song "Congratulations" which features some of his abstract paintings. Iwan has long been involved in painting to fill his spare time.

Not just abstract strokes, usually the results of this painting then become a poem and finally made into a song. "I think it's abstract, so it's a verse, it's only in the form of a song. Sometimes my family gives the title," said Iwan, quoted from ANTARA, Monday, September 20.

"For me, the important thing is that it has become a song, it's enough to fill the time. I was watching (paintings) all day, suddenly there was a story about taking a guitar, so it's basically a piece of time," continued the man who was born on September 3, 1961.

Writing song lyrics or poetry is an activity that Iwan always does every day, for him it is like writing a diary. The themes also vary, can be based on warm events or Iwan's imagination alone.

The number of songs he has created is countless, but not all of them are recorded and included in the album. One example of a song that was made while on "fad" and made it into the album is "Kabar Aroma Tanah".

"I made it when it was raining while waiting for filming, instead of being dumbfounded I took the guitar while waiting for the shoot to make this song. Then I recorded it with live guitar, it didn't use dubbing, but there was a choir from Musica artists but it was fast, that day also so," explained Iwan.

However, Iwan's head is not always full of ideas. He also had time to feel that his name was saturated with his work as a musician or artist. However, this does not make Iwan despair, in fact, according to him, new creative things and innovations will emerge after that.

Iwan Fals also hopes that the COVID-19 pandemic will end soon. The first thing he would do was make a concert on the stage behind his house.
