JAKARTA - Joy from the Red Velvet group celebrates her birthday today, September 3. Throughout her career, she has penetrated the world of singing and acting.

Real name Park Soo-young, Joy auditioned through Global SM Audition Seoul in 2012. At that time, she sang I Wish It Could Be That Way Now by Cho Yong Pil. After being elected, she underwent a two-year training period.

Joy's appearance as a member of Red Velvet surprised fans. The reason is, she is the only member of the group who was not introduced through SM Rookies,

When she debuted in 2014, Joy was more focused on group activities. A year later, Joy started her solo activities by appearing as husband and wife with BTOB's Sungjae on the variety show We Got Married. Joy started her acting by becoming the main actor in the Korean drama The Liar and His Lover. This drama is a musical genre, so Joy also sings a few songs for this drama. In addition, she also played a role in the Korean drama Tempted with Woo Doo Hwan. Her acting brought her several nominations at the MBC Drama Awards and The Seoul Awards.

This year, Joy will return to acting through the Korean drama Only One Person with Kim Kyung Nam and Ahn Eun Jin. This drama will air next December.

Solo Debut
