JAKARTA - The first hip-hop festival in Indonesia, FLAVS 2021 will be back in virtual form.
Carrying the theme of The Seeds, the series of FLAVS events is not much different from its first year. Starting from DJ Battle, Graffiti, B-boy/B-girl Battle Battle, Open Style Battle, and Freestyle Rap Session.
The Seeds was chosen as a sign of the regenerating spirit of hip hop, soul, and R&B in Indonesia which continues to grow. Yacko as Program Director admits that over the past year, this genre has continued to show improvement.
At a virtual press conference held today, August 12, Yacko revealed, throughout 2020, there were many music releases from the hip-hop genre in Indonesia.
"FLAVS must continue under any conditions so that the spirit of this hip hop culture continues to burn throughout Indonesia," said M. Riza, Festival Director of FLAVS 2021.
Not only about music, FLAVS is also trying to expand the hip-hop genre throughout the country. They hope that through the various competitions held, they can find new talents from Sabang to Merauke.
“FLAVS isn't just about music. It's about various important elements in hip-hop culture, namely Rap, DJ, Breaking and Graffiti," said Yacko.
With a virtual format, they want the audience to still feel the spirit of the performers. Several features will be presented for a pleasant interaction.
FLAVS 2021 will be held on October 30-31.
