JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives and public figure Uya Kuya finally lost patience. After being accused of having 750 units of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program kitchen, Uya officially reported 8 to 10 social media accounts to the Cyber Polda Metro Jaya on Saturday (19/4/2026).
Uya emphasized that the narrative circulating on the X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok platforms was 1000 percent slander. Not only did he report to the police, Uya also held a contest for netizens who could provide accurate data on the owners of the accounts of the slanderers.
"I'm making a competition, if anyone can provide accurate data on the complete accounts that slander me, who it is, contact me. If it is proven, I will give each of them one million," said Uya Kuya at the Nusantara I Building of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Tuesday, April 21.
Uya regretted how people, even those who are educated, can easily believe in absurd hoaxes.
According to him, people's digital literacy needs to be improved so that they are not easily provoked by narratives that are deliberately driven by irresponsible parties.
"I ask Komdigi to regulate these hoax accounts. This is too barbaric, wild, and tends to be left alone. Our police are sophisticated, even though the account is anonymous, it can still be found out," he said.
