JAKARTA - Actress Dinda Hauw shared her story and experience when she decided to go behind the scenes as a film producer in the film Kupeluk Kamu Selamanya.
After years of starring in various titles as an actress, Dinda admitted that her decision to become a producer was not something that happened suddenly.
Dinda revealed that as time went on in her acting career, she had a greater desire than just being in front of the camera. She started thinking about what kind of message and story she wanted to convey to the audience.
"I feel that in the middle of my journey as an actress, I'm not just interested in (thinking about) what stories to play, but what stories do I want to show and share with friends and others," said Dinda Hauw in the South Tangerang area, Wednesday, April 1.
Despite having a strong desire, the 28-year-old woman did not deny that she was plagued by doubts at first. She often questioned her own abilities. However, the full support of those closest to her, one of them being filmmaker Angga, made her dare to take a step.
His belief was further strengthened when he was faced with a script that he felt very much represented him, especially through the character named Naya.
"Right now I'm a mother, so I feel like this film won't just be my project, but it will also be close and really relate to me as a woman," he explained. "I feel like I'm not smart, I have to learn, and I want to be part of this film's journey."
Carrying out a new role certainly presents its own challenges for Dinda. He admitted that at the beginning of the collaboration process, he asked a lot because this was his first experience dedicating himself behind the scenes.
However, he feels very grateful to be surrounded by a production team that is supportive and gives him the freedom to continue to grow and process. Being a producer, said Dinda, requires him to keep thinking and contributing creative ideas, which he thinks is very different from when he was an actor.
"It's very different when I'm an actor on the screen. If this is like, ouch... it's dizzy, but thank God I can enjoy it," said the wife of Rey Mbayang.
Furthermore, Dinda assessed that this collaboration project became a platform for her to learn about leadership. As a producer, he is required to be able to embrace and understand the dynamics of all the crew members.
"This collaboration really made me learn to be a leader. Moreover, in the film I have to be able to understand the crew and all sorts of things. So I really enjoy it, especially a lot of lessons to be learned," he concluded.
