JAKARTA - The first season of the Harry Potter series has not been released, but HBO has started working on the second season. They revealed that the series is not far from its time because the child actors grow faster.

"Our goal is not about big distances, especially because the children are growing," HBO boss Casey Bloys told the London Times.

"(The series) is not a yearly program, because the series is very massive and big. But... they are writing the second season now," he said.

This statement was made a few days after HBO launched the first teaser for the Harry Potter series. Played by Dominic McLaughlin, the first season will follow the story in the first book where Harry Potter enters Hogwarts school.

In addition to McLaughlin, the series also stars Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, and others.

The first season trailer shows several iconic scenes where Harry receives a letter to Hogwarts, meets Ron on the train, and opens his wand for the first time. Several characters are also seen for the first time in this trailer.

HBO also revealed that it had established its own school so that the child actors could continue their education while filming. The reason is that this series will adapt all the Harry Potter books so that it follows the development of the characters.

Meanwhile, the Harry Potter series is planned to air on Christmas 2026.
