Reza Rahadian Praises Luna Maya's Dedication in the Film SUZZANNA: SANTET Dosa di Atas Dosa

JAKARTA - Reza Rahadian, an actor and director of the Citra Cup winner, expressed his admiration for his co-star in the film SUZZANNA: SANTET Dosa di Atas Dosa, Luna Maya.

Meanwhile, Reza plays Pramuja, who acts with Luna Maya as Suzzanna, under the direction of director Azhar Kinoi Lubis, and Sunil Soraya as producer.

Specifically, Reza praised Luna's dedication to playing the iconic figure of Suzzanna, which he said was not easy at all.

"I always feel that Luna is a very good friend. We have shared the screen before and this is our second film. I saw firsthand how Luna's incredible dedication to this film," said Reza at a press conference in Senayan, Central Jakarta, Saturday, March 14.

The 39-year-old actor revealed that Luna had to come to the shooting location much earlier than the other actors. The reason is, the actress had to receive special makeup to be made similar to the figure of Suzzanna.

"Technically, the four-hour make-up is not easy, which means Luna has to come the earliest of all the other players. That's an incredible dedication," said Reza.

"But also day by day, Luna is accompanied by one person who I think also deserves credit, Mbak Uci (dialect trainer)," he continued. "There I saw Luna as an extraordinary actor. Up to how detailed the pronunciation is, then how to process the dialogue. It's amazing. "

Reza also explained the reason why he was willing to be involved in the third film from the SUZZANNA franchise adaptation.

"If you ask me why I am interested in being involved in this film. First, the story is interesting, how Suzzanna is shown as a woman who fights for what she wants to fight for, even though in quite horrible ways," he said. "Then, the character is also interesting, the character of Pramuja is also interesting."

Furthermore, Reza admitted that he was happy with his involvement in this film, especially with how the production team treated this project, after the success of the two previous projects, Suzzanna: Breathing in the Grave (2018) and Suzzanna: Friday Night Kliwon (2023).

"Making a horror film, when the previous two were successful, usually tends to design the production or production budget has been suppressed, because it has calculated numbers and all sorts. But the decision to then increase the entire production, that was also a great decision for me," he said.

For information, the film produced by Soraya Intercine Films in collaboration with Legacy Pictures and Navvaros Entertainment will premiere on Wednesday, March 18.

In addition to Luna Maya and Reza Rahadian, SUZZANNA: SANTET Dosa di Atas Dosa is also starring Cliff Sangra, El Manik, Djenar Maesa Ayu, Restu Triandy, Iwa K., Budi Bima, Yatti Surachman, Adi Bing Slamet, Azis Gagap, Ence Bagus, Nunung, Piet Pagau, Sabar Bokir, and Petrix Gembul.

"In the film SUZZANNA: SANTET Dosa di Atas Dosa, we present horror entertainment that has never been from the Suzzanna IP before, and will be a new history in its journey," said Sunil Soraya.

"This film is very appropriate to be a viewing with family and friends during Lebaran - a great entertainment value, there is a moral message that is also conveyed, making this film the main choice during Lebaran," he concluded.
