JAKARTA - Totality in acting sometimes has to be paid dearly with physical injuries. This is what veteran actor Verdi Solaiman experienced while undergoing the filming process for his latest film, LIFT.

Verdi revealed that he had suffered injuries and blood was coming out because of a kick from his opponent, Shareefa Daanish.

The incident began when Verdi, who played the character Hansen, had to perform a scene where he was passive while the character Doris played by Shareefa Daanish attacked him intensely.

Verdi told that the incident occurred because of the too close distance when the choreography was performed. Unintentionally, Shareefa Daanish's foot landed right on Verdi's body.

"Because it was intense and there was enough choreography at that time, it was a little less about keeping distance. So when the feet and a right entered, the nancep was really there and the blood came out," said Verdi Solaiman in Central Jakarta, Friday, February 13.

Even though he was injured and blood started to flow, Verdi showed incredible professionalism. He did not immediately stop the scene and continued the long dialogue that had been scheduled.

"The scene is still going on, we had a long dialogue at that time. Randy (producer) saw, 'Wow, this blood is mostly this'. As soon as it was cut, I immediately asked my friends at P3K to stop the blood," continued Verdi.

Hearing Verdi's story, Shareefa Daanish who was at the same location immediately expressed his guilt. He admitted that his lack of martial arts background made it difficult for him to control his strength when performing action scenes.

"Doris really apologized to Mas Verdi. Because maybe because I don't have any basic martial arts, so I haven't been able to control it and at that time it might take more practice," said Shareefa with a regretful tone.

However, Verdi actually understands this. For him, in a scene with high intensity and tempo, collision is a common thing. He even felt the need for "fishing" emotions and physicality so that the scene looked real on screen.

Behind the incident, Verdi Solaiman gave high appreciation to the Java Stunt team, especially Abah Dinar, who was tasked with composing the choreography of the fight. According to him, the stunt team was very patient and prioritized the safety of the players.

"I want to shout out to Java Stunt, Abah Dinar, because Abah Dinar is very patient and thinks a lot about the safety of us players for the action scene," concluded Verdi.
