JAKARTA - Actor Aiman Ricky is now adding to his busy schedule by becoming a haji officer. However, Aiman's journey to be a haji officer is not easy.

He had to go through a series of very tough training and exams for eight full days in the Hajj dormitory. One of the biggest challenges he faced was the very tight schedule.

"Usually 8 hours of sleep, there may be only 4 hours or 5 hours," he said in South Jakarta, Thursday, February 12.

The activity started at 3 am for congregational prayers and continued until 11 pm. The time was filled with endless materials, sports, and exams.

"And it's an endless test. From the beginning of the entrance, it's a pre-test, then it's a practice test," he said.

He was also tested on his ability in various fields, ranging from Arabic, memorization of the Quran, to micro-guiding ability.

Apart from academic challenges, Aiman also experienced mental challenges. He felt "small" when he found out that the other participants were mostly professionals with impressive backgrounds.

"There are professionals. From doctors, professors... And I feel 'Wow, it's really small'," he admitted.

However, this sense of inferiority actually turned into a motivation to study more diligently.

"Actually, I made me feel like I wanted to learn, I wanted to learn, open it again," he said.

His struggle also bore sweet fruit. He managed to be declared certified, while there were four others who did not succeed.
