JAKARTA - Presenter Ruben Onsu has just returned to his homeland after performing the umrah for nine days. This is his third umrah trip, which he admits has given him a very different and deep spiritual experience.
One of the moments he remembers most is when he was in front of the Ka'bah. In the holy place, he felt that all words seemed to disappear and could only surrender in prayer.
"It's hard when you've been standing there, it feels really hard. You can't say anything anymore," said Ruben in the Tangerang area, Thursday, February 12.
For him, every umrah journey always has its own story. There is always a "answer" from God that he gets in an unexpected way.
"The first Umrah is different, the second Umrah is different, the third Umrah, God gives the answer with a different one again," he explained.
Sometimes, the answer to his prayers comes just through the eyes, without him having to say it verbally.
"Even without us saying it, there was suddenly an answer in the eyes," he said.
On this trip, he also took the time to visit historical places that he had never visited before, such as the top of Mount Uhud.
He felt very grateful to be accompanied by his childhood friend, Hasbi, who patiently guided and explained the history at every place they visited.
It is this experience of umrah that is always different that makes him "addicted" to returning to the Holy Land.
"Every first, second, third Umrah, I feel different," he said.
