Anne Avantie Becomes Barbie's First Inspirational Woman From Indonesia

JAKARTA - Barbie gave a One of A Kind (OOAK) doll specially made to resemble Anne Avantie as the first inspirational woman from Indonesia to receive this doll. This OOAK doll was given as a tribute to the woman who is familiarly called Mother Anne as an inspirational figure for girls in Indonesia to continue to believe in their unlimited potential.

OOAK is a program created by Mattel Indonesia to honor Anne Avantie in the Barbie Role Model Program. Through this program, the Barbie Role Model Program was first launched in 2015 and continues to reward more and more great women around the world.

This is Barbie's initiative to share the stories of great women around the world. As an important part of Barbie's ongoing global initiative, the Dream Gap Project, Barbie also introduces girls from all walks of life to girls' stories to show them that they can be anything they want to be.

Barbie has given this award to several women in the world, among them is Farah Ann, a floor gymnast from Malaysia.

As a recipient of the 2021 Barbie Role Model award from Indonesia, Anne Avantie is also a person who has many achievements in the fashion sector as a designer.

Through her work, she continues to preserve Indonesian culture in the designs of kebaya and batik that have been worn by many important and famous people, including several Miss Universe when visiting Indonesia.

Even more inspiring, Anne Avantie also continues to share with people in need through many social activities, as well as by establishing the Tiban Market which is intended to help small and medium businesses.

"I am very happy and grateful to receive this award from Barbie, especially if I can be an example and inspiration for girls in achieving their dreams", said Anne Avantie.

This OOAK doll is designed in such a way that it represents Anne Avantie, complete with her signature feature, namely a bun with a frangipani flower decoration on the right.

The frangipani flower, which is often found in tombs is referred to by her as the most loyal flower in the world because it accompanies humans from birth to their final resting place. This is what inspires Anne Avantie to be a loyal figure and always decorates the days of many people with kindness.

The dress worn by this doll is a simple traditional black kebaya which represents Anne Avantie in her daily life. Do not forget also a piece of batik cloth that is draped over the shoulder as an inseparable part of Anne Avantie and her designs, which always give a touch of love for Indonesian culture.
