Hollywood pays tribute to Italian designer Valentino Garavani who has died

JAKARTA - Legendary Italian designer Valentino Garavani, known as Valentino, died on Monday, January 19. Valentino's social media label, Fondazione Valentino Garavani e Giancarlo Giammetti, gave a statement regarding this sad news.

"Our founder, Valentino Garavani, died today at his home in Roman, surrounded by those he loved," the label said.

The figure of Valentino Garavani is big in the fashion world and has become known to a number of figures and films. One of his customers was actress Elizabeth Taylor in the '60s. At the beginning of his career, some of his customers were Audrey Hepburn, Joan Collins, Jacqueline Kennedy.

Then in the early 2000s, it also had a number of customers such as singer Jennifer Lopez, actress Jane Fonda, actress Cate Blanchett, actress Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, and so on.

Several Hollywood and fashion figures also paid tribute to Valentino Garavani through their social media. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was one of the first names to pay tribute.

"Valentino, a maestro of style and incomparable elegance and an eternal symbol of Italian high fashion. Today Italy lost a legend, but his legacy will continue to inspire future generations. Thank you for everything," wrote Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow wrote, "I was lucky to know and love Valentino, to know the real man in private. A man who loved beauty, family, inspiration, friends. It feels like the end of an era. He will be missed by me and all who loved him."

Model Cindy Crawford wrote, "I am sad to hear of the passing of Valentino Garavani. He was a true master of his craft and I will always be grateful for the years I had the privilege of working with him."

Valentino Garavani is scheduled to be buried on Friday, January 23 in Rome. Meanwhile, Valentino Garavani died at the age of 93.
