Koo Kyo Hwan and Go Youn Jung to Star in Drama Writer My Liberation Notes

JAKARTA - Koo Kyo Hwan and Go Youn Jung confirmed their latest project, Everyone is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness. The drama was written by Park Hae Young, South Korea's famous writer who worked on My Mister and My Liberation Notes.

Everyone is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness tells the story of someone surrounded by successful friends. He lives with resentment, jealousy and anger as he searches for peace.

Koo Kyo Hwan plays Hwang Dong Man, a film director who has yet to make his first film. He is worried about being in an environment filled with success.

This drama is the first leading role he has played since he debuted as an actor. During his career, Koo Kyo Hwan has starred in more dramas that aired on OTT (over the top). He last starred in the series Parasyte: The Grey in 2024.

Go Youn Jung plays Byun Eun Ah, a producer at Choi Film company known for her sharp criticism. She experienced trauma when she felt difficulties until she met Hwang Dong Man. This drama is the latest project after starring in Can This Love be Translated which aired last week.

In addition to the two, the drama will be played by a number of veteran actors, namely Oh Jung Se, Kang Mal Geum, Park Hae Joon, and Han Sun Hwa who appear as movie stars.

Oh Jung Se plays Park Kyung Se, a director at Gobak Film. Kang Mal Geum plays Go Hye Jin, CEO of Gobak Film and Kyung Se's wife. Then, Park Hae Joon as Hwang Jin Man, a former literary scholar who is Dong Man's older brother.

"Everyone Is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness' focuses on the process of how a person takes a break in the midst of feeling unworthy," said the production team.

"The acting of Koo Kyo Hwan, Go Youn Jung, Oh Jung Se, Kang Mal Geum, and Park Hae Joon combined with Park Hae Young's script and director Cha Young Hoon will come together in a magical time," they explained.

Currently, the shooting process for Everyone Is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness is underway and the drama is scheduled to air in the first half of this year.
