Hanggini Reveals Challenges in the Film 'Sadali': Must Be a 'Minang Banget' Girl

JAKARTA - Actress Hanggini again shows her totality in acting through the latest film by MVP Pictures and writer Pidi Baiq titled Sadali.

In this film, the woman who is familiarly called Jeha was cast to play a character named Arnaza.

It is not easy for Hanggini to bring Arnaza's character to life. He admitted that he faced a big challenge, especially regarding the cultural background of the character he played.

As a figure who is not from West Sumatra, Hanggini is required to be able to represent Minang girls authentically.

"If it's from me personally, maybe it's difficult to shoot because I'm not originally from Padang. So, the challenge is how I can become Arnaza who is 'Minang banget'," said Hanggini in Central Jakarta, Monday, January 19.

Apart from the dialect and cultural constraints, another challenge that Hanggini felt was the technical process of shooting. Sadali film apparently has a close relationship with the previous film, where the shooting process is carried out simultaneously or back-to-back.

Hanggini explained that he had to be smart to maintain his emotions and character consistency because in one day of shooting, he could switch from one timeline to another timeline.

"It's true what Ms. Asti (Adinia Wirasti) said, we shot it in the same month. In fact, in one day, we can shoot for the second film, and then go back to the first film," he said.

This is becoming increasingly challenging because Arnaza is described as growing in a different time frame, namely the 1990s and early 2000s.

"The challenge is there, how can Arnaza in the 90s go back to the Arnaza version of the 2000s with all kinds of changes in the situation," added Hanggini.

Apart from Hanggini, Sadali is also played by Adinia Wirasti, Ajil Ditto, Ciara Nadine to Fariz Vishal. The film is scheduled to be released on February 5.
