JAKARTA - MD Pictures has released the teaser poster and trailer of Ahlan Singaporeywhich is scheduled to premiere in theaters on February 5. Featuring Rebecca Klopper and Kiesha Alvaro as the main cast, this romantic drama film is the first collaboration between the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and MD Entertainment.
The film Ahlan Singapore tells the emotional journey of Aisyah (Rebecca Klopper), an Indonesian student in Singapore who is full of dreams but closes her heart because of childhood wounds. Then fate brings her together with Liam (Kiesha Alvaro), a warm, mysterious senior who has an unspoken grief.
Their meeting in the Lion Country slowly grew hope, as if two souls who recognize each other in silence finally found their way. However, when love begins to weave possibilities, Aisyah's little friend - the man who has always loved her in silence - comes to Singapore, shaking the newly created balance.
Even though it was the first time to play a role in a feature film project, Rebecca and Kiesha's chemistry was built without any significant obstacles, even though the preparation time was relatively short.
"As for chemistry, for us it's not so difficult. Maybe it's just because of time. But I talked to Kiesha also pretty quickly connected and also a lot of things that can be discussed," said Rebecca at a press conference in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, recently.
Meanwhile, Kiesha, who initially felt shy when paired with Rebecca, said the 24-year-old actress' openness helped her to build chemistry together.
"If I look at Becca, she is my senior in this industry, so there must be a flutter at the beginning, (when) I have to be united with Becca. It turns out that Becca is so open, as easy as she is to talk to, to share about roles, about shooting experiences, and others," said Kiesha.
"And Becca sometimes wants to shorten her age to be able to continue with my conversation, or sometimes I'm the one who raises my age to be able to continue my conversation with Becca. Basically we invite each other, so it can be as fast as that to continue," he continued.
Not just a romantic story, Ahlan Singapore also includes aspects of tourism that may not be as important. Rebecca, who has visited Singapore several times, also admitted to being amazed by the many locations that became the filming locations.
"All the fun places, Singapore's hidden gems, we came up with in the film. So we met together with the production. Usually, when we go to Singapore, we just go there, like Orchard, and tourist places, but with this shooting, I got to know a lot of fun places in Singapore. And it turns out that Singapore is vast, the entertainment is diverse, not just Orchard Road," said Rebecca.
"For me, if you ask me the most memorable thing was when I went to the Singapore Oceanarium. Because at that time, strangely, how could I have come to a beautiful place, and the visitors were just as beautiful as the place," said Kiesha.
The shooting of Ahlan Singapore took place in September 2025, taking place at various iconic locations in Singapore, as shown in the teaser which opens with a view of the Jewel Rain Vortex, the world's tallest indoor waterfall at Changi Airport.
Regarding the collaboration in this film, Astrid Suryatenggara as Chief Communication Officer of MD Entertainment said, his party has positioned itself as the largest content power center in Southeast Asia, with nearly 150 million tickets sold in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
"We have started to expand to carry out regional cooperation," said Astrid. "Our steps were welcomed by the Singapore Tourism Board, so the first cooperation between STB and production houses in Indonesia was born."
Not only in Indonesia, Ahlan Singapore which was directed by Indra Gunawan will also be shown in Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam before being distributed on popular streaming services.
In addition to the two main actors, Ahlan Singapore is also starring Ibrahim Risyad, Dwynna Win, Alya Rohali, Emilat Morshedi, Ferry Salim, Putri Ayudya, Toby Armstrong, Kimberly Angela, Frans Nickolas, Alma Santang, Alvin Adam, Adi Irwandy, and Jasmine Laura Arendsen.
