Types of Indonesian Passport

Ordinary Passport (Green Color)

Green passport or ordinary passport is an Indonesian passport that is generally used by Indonesian citizens (WNI). Ordinary passports consist of electronic ordinary passports (e-Passports) and non-electronic ordinary passports (physical). You can apply for the creation of an ordinary passport manually or electronically by attaching the documents for completeness of the requirements.

The validity period of the Ordinary Passport is a maximum of 10 years for Indonesian citizens who already have a Population Identification Card (KTP) or are married. As usual, currently the Indonesian Passport issued is 48 pages, on the front there is the emblem of the Republic of Indonesia, the Garuda Bird, which is printed with gold ink.

Passport of the Ministry (Blue Color)

Blue passport or called the Ministry Passport is an Indonesian passport that is generally used by Indonesian officials who organize trips abroad for official duties. The Ministry Passport is generally used by State Employees, certain State Officials, or certain Indonesian citizens who will carry out the duties of the Indonesian Government that are not diplomatic in nature. Applications for the creation of Ministry Passports are submitted to the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) or the appointed official.

The validity period of the Ministry Passport is generally in accordance with the term of office held by the holder of the Passport, but does not exceed 5 years from the date of issuance. The validity period of the Ministry Passport that has not reached 5 years can be extended. Meanwhile, if the validity period expires, the Ministry Passport that has reached the 5-year validity period cannot be extended again. If it is still needed, you must apply for a new Ministry Passport.

Diplomatic Passport (Black)

The Black Passport or so-called Diplomatic Passport is a special Indonesian Passport used by Indonesian Diplomats and their families who carry out duties in various Indonesian Representative Offices abroad, as well as for certain Indonesian Officials who travel abroad for diplomatic duties.

The validity period of the Diplomatic Passport is 5 years from the date of issuance. Diplomatic passports are issued to identify diplomatic representatives of a country. Therefore, holders of this Passport will receive some treatment and immunity in the country where they serve. In Indonesia, the RI Diplomatic Passport is issued by the RI Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
