Macaulay Culkin Reveals the Reason for His Decision to Leave the Role World After "Home Alone"

In a discussion session at Mythical Kitchen, Macaulay Culkin revealed why he made the decision. He made the decision because he still wanted to behave as he was.

"All I want is to be with people my own age. You have to remember: A lot of the things I did when I was a kid... I don't play in groups anymore. It's just me," Culkin said at Mythical Kitchen, quoted Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Culkin also said that in 1994, he starred in the family comedy film "Richie Rich". The film tells the story of a boy who has everything, but he has no friends. After participating in the film, he decided to quit because he craved a normal life.

"I want to go out and date women, and I want to hang out with people my own age. I want to, you know, go to parties," he said.

"I want to do things like that. I can't tell you how many bar mitzvah parties I've missed," he continued.

In his interview, Culkin also admitted that his fame he could accidentally and just happen.

"I didn't really persuade my parents much, saying, 'Mom, dad, I want to be famous. I want to play movies.' I just started doing it and I'm good at it and I keep getting roles," he explained.

Culkin originally entered the film world by accident. At that time, his father, Kit Culkin, brought his brother and sister to take some photos of themselves. However, his mother asked her husband to invite Culkin junior and he actually passed the first stage of the audition.
