Rachel Amanda became the main character in Aco Tenri's first film titled Suka Duka Tawa. She plays Tawa, a woman who wants to work as a stand-up comedian.
Appearing for the first time as a comedian, Rachel Manda admitted that she was happy because this role was different but she felt honored because this role made her know that the job of a comedian was very difficult.
"The way is definitely helped by the reading process and it happens to be taught by ABG Siniar. The more respect for their work," said Rachel Amanda in a press conference in South Jakarta on Friday, December 19.
"I realized that stand-up is something that is not easy. That's great. The process of reading continues to meet Danny (Beler), Aci (Resti) who helped develop Tawa's stand-up. Aco also trapped me into stand-up but I became more ready for the stand-up scene even though I didn't have to worry because it could be arranged," he explained.
Rachel and Aco are good friends so this film is a pride for him to see his friend make his first film.
"It's really nice because it's still in the feeling of believing or not believing. So I'm really happy like mama-mama playing a movie. But maybe also say this is the time for Aco to process from the music video and also long in the series," said Rachel Amanda.
"Aco looks crazy but it's measured and it just happens that everything is met by the right person," he added.
Meanwhile, the film Suka Duka Tawa will be shown in Indonesian cinemas starting January 8, 2026.
