Irish Bella Debuts as an Executive Producer Through the Film Dosa

JAKARTA - The name of Irish Bella is certainly not unfamiliar in the world of acting in the country. However, this time the wife of Haldy Sabri is present with a different role.

No longer just acting in front of the camera, Irish - his nickname - is now trying his luck behind the scenes as an Executive Producer for his latest film titled Dosa.

This step is Irish Bella's debut in leading the production of a feature film. Apparently, the desire to work behind the scenes has been buried by the actress for a long time.

Irish revealed that his interest in the business and film production side had actually emerged in recent years. The momentum was finally realized thanks to his husband's full support.

"Honestly, for the past few years I have been happy behind the scenes and taking care of business. Alhamdulillah, my husband right from the first close has immediately chatted about his plan which supports me to work behind the scenes," said Irish Bella to the media, not long ago.

Gayung also responded. At that time, Haldy Sabri was designing the film-making process. After a long discussion about ideas and ideas, Irish finally dared to get involved directly in this industry as a producer.

Choosing Sin as the first project is not without reason. After intense discussions with director Sondang and producer Echa, Irish saw that the film's script had a strong premise and conflict.

Carrying a thriller genre with a psychological horror approach, Irish emphasized that Sin not only presents visual tension alone. He has a vision that this film will bring a deep moral message about the consequences of life and the law of cause and effect.

"God willing, this is not just a scary movie or something like that, but there is more than that. With the values we bring to the film Dosa, hopefully there will be many messages that can be taken by the audience," he explained.

According to Irish, this theme is very relevant to the Indonesian people. This film will invite the audience to delve into the psychological side of how every act will have its reward later.

"Our psychology when watching will really be made to imagine this and that," he added.

However, Irish admitted that he really enjoyed every process, from pre-production to post-production. The support of her husband made her able to face the dynamics of the field with a feeling of enjoyment.

Through the film Dosa, Irish also paid great attention to the artistic aspect. One of them is through the symbolism of the old hotel location which is depicted as a private space, a place where humans may feel alone, but in fact there is the One Who Sees.

"It turns out that thriller films are not just a surprise, but there is value that they can take home. I guarantee that everyone will immediately think about what they have done so far," concluded Irish Bella.

In broad strokes, the film "Sin" tells the story of Bima (28) and his wife, Ersya (25), who are determined to go out of town for the inauguration of their positions, ignoring the bad premonition of his mother, Nungki, who was even secretly given a sleeping pill by Ersya. On the way, their quarrel broke Bima's concentration when he passed a truck driven by Nanang (35), a drunk driver who had just committed a hit-and-run. Bima's car was also stuck in a ravine.

Feeling safe, Bima and Ersya seek help until they find a mysterious old hotel guarded by a strange receptionist named Dilla. At the hotel, they meet Nanang and begin to experience various supernatural terrors and sadistic torture by the figure of the Executioner. This terror forces them to face past sins: Ersya who had an affair and an abortion, Nanang who killed people while drunk, and Bima who once killed his co-workers for a job promotion.

At its peak, Dilla revealed the truth that Bima and Ersya had actually died in the accident. The hotel was just a place of judgment for their sins. While Ersya's body was found stabbed to death by a tree trunk, Bima's body lay at the bottom of the ravine. However, the story ended with a cliffhanger when Bima's corpse's eyes suddenly opened wide.
