Denny Sumargo Prepares IDR 1 Billion, Supports The Joint Movement To Buy Forests In Indonesia

JAKARTA Actor and content creator, Denny Sumargo, has again attracted public attention through his social actions. The man who is familiarly called Densu stated his commitment to disburse funds of Rp1 billion to participate in the collective movement to buy forests in Indonesia.

This step was taken by Denny as a form of real concern for environmental sustainability and efforts to protect the lungs of the world from the threat of deforestation.

This wish was conveyed by Denny in the midst of the hectic public discussion about forest conservation initiatives through joint ventures. In his statement, Denny emphasized that he was not playing games in supporting the natural conservation movement.

"This is actually from Pandawara's post, yes, then I don't know if it's serious or not. It's only if it's serious that's okay. That's why I said, 'Come on, I'll donate the first Rp 1 billion',' said Denny Sumargo in the South Jakarta area, Wednesday, December 10.

The former national basketball athlete was moved after seeing the large number of forest land that had changed its function to industrial and plantation areas that threaten the ecosystem. For Denny, money can be sought, but natural damage will have a long impact on future generations.

"Because I also feel quite disturbed and restless with the large number of illegal mining and illegal logging which in my opinion is detrimental to environmental management, right," said Denny Sumargo.

"What should be put in more order and then be better guarded according to the rules. That's actually just a form of unrest," added Denny.

He hopes that this contribution can trigger the spirit of other communities and fellow public figures to take part in protecting Indonesia's nature.

"Therefore, this is actually a form of our concern, do not let our future future generations be left behind by disaster," said Denny.

Because our country is a very tropical country. Rainfall and our climate is very extreme, it can happen in a fast time. That's why the trees and the forests are our protectors. That's what we should protect," he added.
