West Sumatra Flash Flood Disaster, Chikita Meidy Failed To Return Home

JAKARTA - Singer Chikita Meidy also voiced her concern over the flash flood that hit her hometown in West Sumatra. He admitted that he was very shocked and sad to hear the sad news.

"Yes, that's right, it's quite surprising and concerned too. This is Kampungku, West Sumatra," he said in the South Jakarta area.

He immediately tried to contact his family who was there. Luckily, his extended family in Bukittinggi, Payakumbuh, and Pesisir were reported to be in a safe condition.

"My family is still safe, Alhamdulillah," he said.

However, his sadness remained deep when he learned that there were casualties who were lost in the current.

"I'm sad that there are four people who are missing, you know," he said.

This disaster also had a direct impact on his personal plans. Chikita and her family were forced to cancel their intention to return to their hometowns.

"Actually, we have a possibility to go for a walk, we want to see our house there," he said.

"We want to healing back to our village, actually that's how it is," he said.

He prepared this healing plan after going through a tiring divorce process. He wanted to return to his homeland to calm down and meet relatives.

However, with the disconnection of the main route to Bukittinggi, he realized that the plan was impossible to realize in the near future.

"It doesn't happen with an incident like this," he regretted.

He was even grateful that this disaster prevented his parents from planning to return to Padang. "Alhamdulillah, I can prevent my parents from returning," he said.

Chikita Meidy can now only pray that conditions in West Sumatra will improve soon. He also hopes that the missing victims can be found by the rescue team soon.
