JAKARTA - The film Wicked: For Good caught their attention with their achievements in theaters in a week. This second part explains the first part that highlights Elphaba and Glinda's journey.
In the film Wicked: For Good, the story of Glinda (Ariana Grande) is told to be engaged to Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey). Whereas in the first film, Fiyero was described as close to Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo).
The love triangle plot continued in the second film and even contained a kiss scene between Fiyero and Glinda. However, that scene is not in the last version of Wicked's film.
The authors of Dana Fox revealed that the kissing scenes of Fiyero and Glinda were eventually removed from the film for a reason.
There was a scene between Fiyero and Glinda that we cut, namely they kissed. The scene was very beautiful and romantic, but it was too passion," Dana Fox told Deadline.
"Seeing the scene makes it even more difficult for him (Fiyero) to be with Elphaba and it's too difficult for him if he decides to run away with Elphaba," he explained.
According to Fox, the kiss scene seemed to show that Fiyero also had a sense of Glinda even though it wasn't something the author wanted.

"It feels too real for Glinda and she to feel something together," he said
Finally, the director decided that the scene was removed in order to highlight Fiyero who seemed forced to accept engagement with Glinda as announced by Lady Morrible (played by Michelle Yeoh).
It feels like he really loves Glinda, cares. It's nothing but the scene is so romantic so we feel 'We can't make it because we must be very upset if in the end he doesn't choose Glinda', said Dana Fox.
"Then later we will hate Elphaba, Glonta, and Fiyero. So it's a good cut because it's too good until we think like that," he continued.
Even so, the film Wicked: For Good still received a positive response from the audience.
