Baim Wong Wins LEPRID Award, Affirms Creative Process Without Compromise

JAKARTA Actor, director, and film producer Baim Wong stole the public's attention again. In the midst of his busy schedule, Baim emphasized his commitment to presenting high-quality works, a principle that then led him to win awards from the Indonesian-World Achievement Institute (LEPRID).

Baim, who was successful through the film Lembayung and Sukma, said that his dedication to film life was never half-hearted.

At first I thought this award was a joke or something went wrong. It turned out to be true for me. Every time I work, I always focus. I want everything to be perfect," he said, quoted by VOI from a media broadcast, Friday, November 21.

For Baim, film is not just a spectacle. He said that every work was born from a long and detailed process, involving full supervision from the first to the final stages.

"Every job should not be careless. It must be good. From directors, artistic arrangers, producers, to actors, everything is very detailed. Directations and writing work extraordinarily hard," he said.

He emphasized that he always went directly to oversee every process.

"All works start from A to Z. That's how I make good films without blaming other people," he added.

The positive response from the public is said to be Baim's biggest motivation.

"Thank God, my films are appreciated by Indonesian audiences. It means a lot and encourages me to continue to create better works," he concluded.

For its consistency in maintaining the quality and competitiveness of Indonesian films, LEPRID has determined Baim Wong as the recipient of Record No. 1017 for the category:

Some of Baim's achievements, which became the basis for the award, include: Howl Sukma won 7 nominations at the 2025 Indonesian Journalist Film Festival (FFWI), including Best Film and Best Director.

The award from LEPRID confirms that the hard work and high standards held by Baim Wong have given important colors for Indonesian cinema.
