JAKARTA - The growing popularity of Korean dramas and music has also led to a surge in the popularity of various products from the country, especially its traditional foods. In Indonesia, Korean cuisine, commonly known as K-Food, is gaining popularity.

This has led K-Food to participate in the SIAL InterFood 2025 food exhibition, which will take place from November 12 to 15, 2025, in Jakarta.

K-Food's presence at the exhibition is fully supported by the Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Products Trade Development Agency (aT).

Participation in SIAL InterFood 2025 further underscores Korea's commitment to developing K-Food in Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia. This is because Indonesia has a large population and a high level of interest in South Korean culture.

"Indonesia requires a strategic approach because it has a large population and high consumption potential," said aT Food Export Director, Jeon Ki-Chan, in an official statement on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

At the exhibition, the Korean Ministry of Agriculture and aT presented the Integrated Korean Pavilion, along with 24 leading K-Food export companies and three integrated organizations for pear, grape, and persimmon products.

Here, visitors could enjoy a variety of Korean specialties, which have recently become increasingly popular in Indonesia and are a must-try.

From kimchi and delicious noodles to various sauces for various dishes, drinks, and tea, all of these dishes fully showcased the appeal of K-Food.

In addition, there was a cooking show featuring eight Korean specialty dishes, including bulgogi, kimchijeon, japchae, dajganjeong, tteokbokki, and honey pear ade, with a local chef.

The recipes used in the cooking show were also provided in a cookbook. This will make it easier for Korean culinary lovers in Indonesia to enjoy or make their favorite K-Food directly.
