Jule Absent from First Divorce Hearing, Daehoon's Family Disappointed by Delayed Mediation

JAKARTA – The first hearing of the divorce petition filed by South Korean TikTok celebrity Daehoon against his wife, Julia Prastini, has been postponed.

The postponement occurred because Julia, as the respondent, did not appear in court and did not provide any confirmation to the South Jakarta Religious Court.

Daehoon's attorney, Rio Rahmat Effendi, confirmed the absence.

"Today's hearing, our agenda as the petitioner, Mr. Daehoon, was mediation. However, as the respondent, Mrs. J, was not present," Rio said after the hearing at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Tuesday, November 18.

"I don't know, there was no confirmation from the court," he continued.

Due to the respondent's absence, the mediation process, the initial step in resolving the case, could not be carried out. The panel of judges postponed the hearing and scheduled a new summons for December 2, 2025.

"The next agenda item is still the summons of the parties. If the respondent is present, they will undergo mediation," Rio explained.

Daehoon's side hopes Julia will be present at the next hearing so the proceedings can proceed expeditiously.

South Jakarta Religious Court Public Relations Officer, Abid MH, confirmed this to the media.

"Yes, it's been filed. Just this afternoon," Abid said on Thursday, November 6.

"The type of case is a divorce petition. The man, or husband, files the lawsuit or requests permission to declare a divorce," he explained.
