JAKARTA - A green open space in South Jakarta has become a gathering place for various communities, environmental activists, and the younger generation who want to live life more in harmony with the earth.

In a warm and full of positive energy atmosphere, the Step of Building Ecoground 2025 comes as a place to share inspiration and sustainability practices that can be applied in daily life, ranging from sports, wellness, to environmentally friendly lifestyles.

The festival, which lasted for two days, November 8-9, 2025, carries the theme 'Collaboraction for The Earth', an invitation to move together in realizing real change.

The opening of the event was marked by the symbolization of the handover of green plants, which was then followed by a ceremony to beat drums and legs on the kinetic floor by the figures present. This moment serves as a reminder that each individual's small steps have a contribution to the sustainability of the earth.

In his remarks, COO & Co-Founder of Blibli, Lisa Widodo said that the younger generation had a big role in this movement.

"Almost 90 percent of participants are Gen Z. This shows the concern of the younger generation for sustainability issues," he said at PERURI City Park, South Jakarta on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

This spirit can also be seen from a series of collaborative activities that have previously been carried out with students on various campuses.

Deputy Minister of Environment Diaz Hendropriyono also expressed his appreciation for efforts to create an inclusive educational space.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration to face current environmental challenges, ranging from climate change to the waste crisis and the loss of biodiversity.

In the festival area, various sustainability initiatives are exhibited, ranging from eco-packaging innovations, recycling facilities, to educational features that help visitors understand how to reduce carbon footprint in daily activities.

In addition, there is also an Eco Market that displays local products made from natural ingredients, upcycling works, and creative goods produced with sustainability principles.

Several local business actors involved also present an inspiring story behind the creation process of their work. One of them is Organic Culture, a fashion brand that utilizes certified organic materials and recycled accessories from beach clean-up activities.

The use of renewable energy in its production facilities helps significantly reduce carbon emissions. This is a real example that modes and sustainability can go hand in hand.

There is also Replast, a startup that processes plastic waste into furniture and high-purpose decorations. The circular economy approach they apply not only helps reduce plastic waste, but also supports community empowerment.

In addition to bazaars and exhibitions, visitors are also presented with various interactive activities in four main areas, namely Eco Motion, Eco Market, Eco Labs, and Eco Stage.

Starting from eco cooking demonstrations, mindful beauty class, eco printing, ceremonial match workshops, to sports and wellness sessions that combine body movements with ecological awareness.

In total there are more than 40 classes that can be followed to provide a comprehensive but relaxed and fun festival experience.

With an familiar and idea-packed atmosphere, the 2025 Ecoground Earthground Step presents a cross-sector collaboration space that inspires visitors to start the journey of sustainability in a simple and relevant way for everyday life.
