Difficult To Find Real Materials, Chef Rafael Asks Indonesians To Respect Nusantara Restaurants Abroad

JAKARTA - Looking for Indonesian food abroad is not easy like typical foods from other countries such as Japan, Korea, to Thailand. Indonesian food abroad also does not necessarily have a taste that is in accordance with what is in Indonesia directly.

However, according to the President's Association of Culinary Professionals (ACP), Chef Rafael Triloko Basato, people who open Indonesian food restaurants abroad should be respected. With them, Indonesian food can be increasingly introduced in the eyes of the world.

If you taste Indonesian special food abroad, it is also recommended to appreciate the taste, even though it is different from the one from Indonesia directly. This is because it is difficult to find Indonesian food ingredients in different countries.

"For Indonesians who go to Germany (for example), when you try food there, I hope you appreciate it," said Chef Rafael when met in the Gambir area, Central Jakarta, written on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.

"It will not taste the same as you eat in Indonesia. You don't know how difficult it is to find the basic ingredients in Germany," he added.

Chef Rafael invites to continue to appreciate typical Indonesian foods sold abroad. He suggested giving positive comments on social media, and if there was a shortage, it could be directly conveyed to employees or restaurant voters.

"Keep your appreciation. You make all the positive comments. If you want negative comments, go ahead," he continued.

Thus, Indonesian food restaurant businesses abroad can run smoothly. This action will also further help the pleasure of Indonesian food to be known by local residents of the country.
