Surprise! Desta Officially Replaces Abimana Aryasatya As Dono In The Latest DKI Warkop Film

JAKARTA - Shocking and encouraging news for Indonesian comedy film lovers. Falcon Pictures officially announced a new formation for its latest film Warkop DKI, by appointing presenter and comedian Desta Mahendra as the legendary character of Dono.

Through a poster uploaded on their official Instagram account, Falcon Pictures introduced Desta who will compete acting with two actors who return to play the iconic character, Vino G. Bastian as Kasino and Tora Sudiro as Indro.

"And this is the role of DONO @desta80s in the latest DKI WARKOP film," Falcon Pictures wrote as quoted by VOI from his personal Instagram, Wednesday, November 5.

The appointment of Desta as Dono is the most significant change in this franchise. Previously, in the DKI Reborn Warkop series: Jangkrik Boss! Part 1 & 2, the character of Dono was played very nicely by Abimana Aryasatya. Now, Desta is ready to bring his new interpretation to one of the most beloved comedy characters in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Vino G. Bastian and Tora Sudiro will revive the characters of Kasino and Indro, the role they have been attached to since their first reboot film.

The announcement poster also featured the presence of the original Indro Warkop, who seemed to embrace the three actors with cheerful expressions, as if giving full blessing to this new formation.

The film, which will be directed by Herwin Novianto, is scheduled to shake the cinema in 2026.
