Not Just For Sports, Running Can Now Be An Event To Help Equivalent Education

JAKARTA - In recent years, running has become one of the sports that is very popular and in demand by many people. Running now is also not only considered as a sport, but can also be a forum for doing good.

One of them is to help higher education. Especially in Indonesia, access to higher education is still not evenly distributed and is a big challenge.

Based on BPS 2024 data, the national tuition participation rate (APK) has only reached 32 percent. This means that only three out of ten high school students can continue the skin.

This condition shows that there are still many outstanding young people who are hampered in accessing education due to economic limitations. This must be overcome and requires cooperation from various parties, in order to build equal education in Indonesia.

Thus, Salam Setara, Merdeka Student School, Mutual Care, and We Can collaborate to organize Run With The Bunch (RWTB). This is a 5 km run or charity fun run activity, which combines the spirit of sports and social awareness.

The results of these running activities will be distributed to help pre-state students continue their education to college. The assistance is expected to provide students with access to higher education even though it is hampered by the economy.

"We believe that education is a socio-economic escalator for a person. Salam Setara wants to invite various parties to participate in realizing the hope that higher education can be healthIZed by everyone, especially from a family of prosperous people," said Executive Director of Salam Setara, Ahmad Mujahid, during a press conference at Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

Run With The Bunch will also provide a social experience with school nuances with various exciting activities. Such as medal awards, careful smart competitions, to nostalgic hawker booths.

There are also book donation areas that will be distributed to schools, reading parks, and orphanages. This activity is expected to be a real step in building social awareness and opening up collaboration spaces between the world of education and society.

"Education issues are complex. But through activities like this, people can be closer and understand the challenges faced by underprivileged students. In fact, simple conversations why we run away can create new awareness about access to education," said the Co-Founder of the Merdeka Student School, Radinka Qiera.

In addition, this event can also be a forum for people who like to run to feel the meaning of the kindness of the sport. Not only for health, but also as a moment of sharing and becoming a new lifestyle.
