Feeling Innocent, Nikita Mirzani's Party Considers Appeals To Sentences 4 Years In Prison

JAKARTA Although the 4-year prison sentence handed down by the panel of judges was lighter than the prosecutor's demands, Nikita Mirzani still felt disappointed and planned to take legal appeals.

Nikita considered herself innocent because she felt that she had never disclosed secrets related to skincare products which were the subject of the case.

"Yes! (disappointed)," said Nikita Mirzani at the South Jakarta District Court, Tuesday, October 28.

"People don't force people, no one opens secrets. What secret is open? The skincare is indeed dangerous, indeed the skincare is not BPOM," he continued.

He emphasized that the findings regarding skincare products actually came from official institutions.

"BPOM itself is already open, how come Reza Gladys's skincare is not BPOM," he added.

Despite being disappointed with the judge's decision, Nikita still respects the court's decision. He emphasized that his struggle had not been completed and left the next legal steps to his legal team.

"It's not over yet, there's still an appeal, there's still an appeal, there's still a PK," said Nikita.

"After this, there will be efforts, please, it's up to you to appeal, what are you going to do, I'll just come along," he said.

Previously, the panel of judges at the South Jakarta District Court stated that Nikita Mirzani was legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act of extortion with the threat of defamation through electronic media.

For his actions, Nikita was sentenced to 4 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 1 billion. If the fine is not paid, he will have to serve a replacement sentence of 3 months.

"The defendant was sentenced to 4 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 1 billion, provided that if the fine was not paid, it was replaced with imprisonment for 3 months," said the judge when reading the verdict.
