Building A Young Generation Of Quality Through Character Education

JAKARTA - Currently, character education is one of the important pillars in forming a young generation who is tough and empathetic.

Not a few educational institutions emphasize the importance of balance between intellectual intelligence and emotional intelligence so that the younger generation is able to face global challenges with strong human values.

One form of application of this approach can be seen in the work of Global Sevilla School, which recently received appreciation at the Media Relations Awards 2025 which was held by the Press Company Union (SPS) in Banda Aceh, coinciding with the commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of the organization.

The award was handed over by Irwa Zarkasi, Deputy Chairperson of the SPS, to Andrew J. Jules Soebali, Chairman of the Budi Pekerti Luhur Foundation representing the Global Sevilla School. This international standard school located in Jakarta received an award for a press release entitled Global Sevilla School Gandeng Didit Hediprasetyo: Child Character and Mindfulness In The Midst of the Burst of Digital Currents.

Carrying the big theme 'Pers Maju, Indonesian Resources Forward,' the award event gave appreciation to various institutions and media which were considered successful in building positive and inspiring public communication. Chairman of SPS, Januar P. Ruswita, emphasized that this award not only assessed the communication aspect, but also the social meaning contained in the message conveyed.

"Media Relations Awards are given to parties who are able to package public messages meaningfully, not only informative, but also move them," said Januar P. Ruswita.

For Global Sevilla School, this award is a form of recognition for its consistency in carrying out education that balances academic aspects with the formation of character and self-awareness.

"This appreciation is a new energy for us to continue to provide a balanced education between intelligence and virtue. We believe that children who are able to recognize themselves, manage emotions, and care for others are the foundation for a better future," said Andrew J. Jules Soebali.
