Louvre Museum Disappointed Tourists Closed Due To Robbery

JAKARTA - The Louvre Museum is one of the popular tourist destinations in Paris, France. However, the museum was forced to temporarily close after the robbery that occurred on Sunday, October 19, 2025, which caused tourist disappointment.

The day after the robbery, visitors were still visiting the Louvre Museum, with the hope that the museum would be opened to the public. However, the museum is still closed, triggering disappointment, especially by tourists who come from afar.

Some tourists claim to have planned to visit the Louvre Museum for a long time, and ended up unable to be closed. Disappointment is deepening because some of them will leave Paris in the near future.

"It's my birthday, it's my gift, and I've been wanting to come for a few years, so I'm a little upset," said a visitor from Italy, Elisa Valentino, quoted from AFP, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

"I'm learning art, this is even the only thing I've planned while living in Paris, and I'll go tomorrow," he added.

"We feel disappointed. We have been planning this for a very long time," said tourist from the United States, Jesslyn Ehlers and her husband.

The Louvre Museum itself states that for visitors who have booked tickets for the closing day, they will get refunds.

However, according to tourists, this is not a problem. They also highlighted the robbery incident at one of the world's leading museums and regretted it could happen.

"We will get a refund, but that's not the point," said a man named Adam Cooke.

"It's amazing that the robbery took place in broad daylight. I mean, it's definitely a shame, it's a shame," Cooke added.

Meanwhile, the robbery at the Louvre Museum was carried out in a planned manner and the robbers only needed 4 minutes to launch their action. For the robbery, there were 8 valuables from the museum that were stolen.
