Being Disrespectful During Trial Becomes Something That Strengthens Nikita Mirzani's Demands

JAKARTA In the trial for the alleged extortion and money laundering (TPPU) case that ensnared Nikita Mirzani, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) explained a number of things that were considered burdensome to the defendant.

The prosecutor considered that Nikita's actions had damaged the good name and dignity of others, in this case Reza Gladys, who is the reporter in the case. In addition, Nikita's actions are also said to have disturbed the public on a national scale.

"The situation is burdensome: the defendant's actions damaged the dignity of others, the defendant's actions were troubling the public on a national scale," said the Public Prosecutor at the South Jakarta District Court, Thursday, October 9.

Not only his actions outside the court, Nikita Mirzani's attitude during the trial was in the spotlight. The prosecutor considered that the 39-year-old artist did not show good faith and was often complicated in providing information.

"The defendant has enjoyed the proceeds of the crime, the defendant was not polite at the trial, the defendant was convoluted at the trial, the defendant did not admit his actions, the defendant had already been convicted, and the defendant did not respect the proceedings," said the prosecutor.

Even so, the Public Prosecutor still lists one thing that is considered mitigating for Nikita Mirzani, namely her status as a mother who has family responsibilities.

"The situation is mitigating: the defendant still has family responsibilities," said the prosecutor.

Previously, the Public Prosecutor stated that Nikita Mirzani was legally and convincingly proven guilty of all charges directed at him. In addition to imprisonment, the prosecutor also demanded that Nikita be fined in large quantities.

"Therefore, with a prison sentence of 11 years and a fine of Rp. 2 billion, provided that if the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 6 months," said the Public Prosecutor in the courtroom.
