Exclusive Leya Princy Learns To Understand Love And Its World

JAKARTA - Leya Princy stepped into a new level in her career where she debuted as the main character in her first feature film. The woman whose full name is Harleyava Princy plays Love in the film Rangga & Cinta directed by Riri Riza and produced by Miles Films.

Admire the film since childhood, Leya tells the story of her character who has both strength and weakness. As a result, the actress who was born on November 18 saw that the character of Cinta was not just a woman who fell in love.

"Love is a teenager who she thinks her world will be fine by (thinking) everything will go her way. Love feels everything is straight, everything has a regular book, everything is neatly arranged suddenly there is one guy who is very different from him and his surroundings where he became curious and curious," Leya Princy told VOI some time ago.

Actually, the film Rangga & Cinta is not his first acting project. The son of Ferry Maryadi and Risma Nilawati marked his acting in 2023 through the Early Marriage series. Since then, he has played series such as Culture Shock and became a content creator on the internet.

Everything changed when Leya's name was announced as the actor of Cinta in the film Rangga & Cinta. With all the attention that sticks towards him, he admitted that this film marked an empty paper tub in his life, especially since he had just completed his high school studies.

What is certain is that I am very grateful. This is an opportunity to learn. When I started this, I started from blank paper where I could say I really didn't have any experience for character deepening. I've never, "continued Leya.

"Before this, I was very happy to be in theater production, so everything I had studied at the school became more meaningful with the existence of this film," he said firmly.

Interestingly, Leya once told that she was doing the audition process for the film Rangga & Cinta without revealing the identities of her parents who were Indonesian celebrities. This became one of his efforts to start without the influence of the two.

"Actually, when I entered this film, I didn't think at all like 'OK, I don't want to be related to my father and mother' but I just want to, I also want to know if it's worthy for this film? Mas Riri really doesn't know that I'm the son of my mother and mother, "said Leya.

"I don't have any tricks or planning or anything to keep me away from family images, no. Because I was born in this family, I'm also not the one who wants to stand alone. It's okay," he said.

Leya Princy also explained that her parents also did not interfere with all her affairs, including the question of acting. Even so, he still gets advice to act and will interact with the players.

Because the first time I worked yesterday, when I was shooting I was still in high school. As the character of Cinta in the latest film, Leya tries to bring her side as outlined in her character. She feels that sensitivity as an actor is very much needed in the industry to form her as a professional actor.

"What is certain here is that we are looking for feelings and the world together so it's not just alone. I'm looking for it, it's easier for me to get a sense when there are co-stars and the imagination is built together with other casts," explained the 18-year-old actress.

"Maybe if you ask the difference in this film, the story feels the same as the nuances of music and a fairly sensitive sensitivity here, maybe that's what makes the difference. What the audience feels is different, but what will feel is the sensitivity with the era," he said.

Film Rangga & Cinta masih mengambil premis yang serupa dengan film Ada Ada Ada Ada Dengan Cinta? (2002) di mana Cinta (Leya Princy) bersama gang-nya dihadapi dengan kehadiran Rangga (El Putra Sarira), anak baru yang cuek dan dingin.

"Chemistry with El flowed from the start. So from the start I met him, I've seen that this person is more introverted than me, so I have to try even though I'm actually tired of getting out but I have to be professionally extroverted. I opened the way for him to come here, what do you want, we have to build together and he turns out to want. We are together so that we have a modal feeling for this project and we enjoy it even though for sure we have ups and downs, but we live it together," said Leya about acting with El Putra Sarira.

With a age distance and character that is not too far away, Leya feels that there are sides to the character of Cinta that are different from her. Not only character, he also learns to perform musically, something he has never tried as Leya. The film Rangga & Cinta is known to use musical format considering that soundtrack is one of the elements of his previous film which was very well known.

"I took the models of feelings I have in the world of Leya for the character of Love, but for life, it's very different because where Leya is more not as lively, more flexible and I enjoy everything more when I'm alone and with close friends," explained Leya.

It feels like the feeling that we have and we think through music. I think, such a beautiful way to express like thinking of my self is in the world of Rangga Cinta which is fantasy. I feel like I can feel the song Aunt Melly (Goeslaw), the lyrics of Aunt Melly and Uncle Anto (Hoed) who deepened the character because as a character we can feel the song and interest and challenging," he continued.

"The challenge is that even if it's like singing, it has to stay stable and it's live, so we use a tool where it turns out that Mas Riri is also doing musical live for the first time, so we are both trying something new together," said Leya.

With such a big attention to his acting debut, Leya Princy admits that she has not fully determined her career in acting. He, who has graduated from high school, is currently trying various fields because he feels he can enjoy everything without having to choose, including acting.

"I'm still open for options. For me, passion can be placed anywhere. At first, I didn't want to be here but I didn't know I could find a passion here which is the process. I enjoy every moment, it turns out. In fact, all fields can be enjoyed in their own way, so I feel like I'm still open for what happens in the future," said Leya Princy closing the conversation that day.
