Submits Duplicate, Vadel Badjideh's Attorney Says Prosecutors Still Demand 12 Years In Prison

JAKARTA - The trial of the alleged immoral act involving content creator Vadel Badjideh is still ongoing. This time, the trial process has reached the replica stage, aka the reply or rebuttal submitted by the plaintiff (or public prosecutor) against the answer submitted by the defendant (or the defendant's legal advisor) in a legal trial process.

Vadel Badjideh's attorney, Oya Abdul Malik, explained that in general the public prosecutor still charged his client with 12 years in prison.

"He remains with his demands, nothing has changed. From some of the points we conveyed, only a few points from a large number were answered," said Oya Abdul Malik at the South Jakarta District Court, Thursday, September 18.

Knowing this, Oya admitted that she felt that the replica submitted by the prosecutor was not in accordance with the request that her party submitted.

"It doesn't connect. Yes, it means like this, the funny thing we say is what we answer, what is that. That's all. But that's okay too. Each of them has arguments, yes," said Oya Abdul Malik.

Claiming to be disappointed with the contents of the prosecutor's replica, Oya Abdul Malik also stated that he would file a duplicate again on this matter.

"So, I will do a duplicate on Monday. After that, I will just wait for the panel to decide," said Oya Abdul Malik.

Previously, the Public Prosecutor demanded Vadel with 12 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 1 billion for this case or replaced with imprisonment for 6 months if he could not pay the fine.

"The trial has submitted a letter of demand, the prosecutor has submitted a letter of demand. Demanded for 12 years, a fine of Rp. 1 billion. If the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 6 months," said Rio Barten, Public Relations of the South Jakarta District Court, Monday, September 1.
