Not Yet A Year As A Member Of The DPR, Uya Kuya Has Been Deactivated

Uya Kuya became one of the names that had to swallow a bitter reality when she was deactivated from her position as a member of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) from the PAN faction.

As is known, Uya and two members of the DPR with the background of other artists Eko Patrio and Nafa Urbach have been the targets of public criticism who in the last few days have taken to the streets and demonstrated in various regions in Indonesia.

At its peak, Uya's luxury home in Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta, was damaged by a disappointed mob, and the items inside were looted on Saturday, August 30 evening.

With the criticism that has not yet subsided, PAN Deputy, Viva Yoga Mauladi, announced the deactivation of Uya with Eko Patrio.

"Observing the current dynamics and developments, the PAN DPP decided to deactivate my brother Eko Hendro Purnomo (Eko Patrio) and my brother Surya Utama (Uya Kuya) as members of the DPR RI from the PAN faction of the DPR RI, starting from Monday, September 1, 2025," said Viva Yoga via video caption, Sunday, August 31.

Unfortunately for Uya, his position as a member of the DPR did not last until a year. He was only inaugurated on October 1, 2024, after winning the DKI Jakarta II Electoral Area (Dapil), which includes Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and Foreign Affairs.

Different from Eko, who has been in politics for a long time, practical and has previously sat in the DPR, Uya has only participated in the legislative and elected contestation.

He even came to the South Jakarta District Court to take care of the similarity of Uya Kuya's name with her birth name, Surya Utama.

Although it has been deactivated from its position, Uya Kuya's wife, Astrid Kuya, seems to have not been affected from her current position as a member of the DKI Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) from the PAN faction.
