Choi Jung Won Arrested By Police After Arguing With His Lover

JAKARTA - Singer and actor Choi Jung Won released a statement after his name was mentioned in a police statement on Tuesday, August 19. Jungbu Police stated that Jung Won was arrested for stalking.

The police asked for a detention order and it was approved by the court. Then, Choi Jung Won wrote a personal statement via his social media account.

Hello, this is Choi Jung Won. The report released yesterday was a personal conflict between my lover and me and it was a small mistake that turned out to be a misunderstanding," wrote Choi Jung Won.

"In the middle of that moment, there was a misunderstanding and the results of the situation were reported and did not reflect the facts. I feel sorry for that," he said.

The former member of the UN duo also explained that he had never threatened his girlfriend with a sharp weapon or stalked him as mentioned by the authorities.

"The claim that I threatened him with a weapon or followed him was completely fake. Both lover and I denied the allegation," he said.

"I plan to take legal action regarding the false information. I sincerely apologize that my personal life caused a misunderstanding and it made the wrong news," said Choi Jung Won.

He ended his statement saying, "From now on, I will act carefully and responsibly. I apologize."
