A total of 1,519 people out of a total of 1,630 correctional inmates (WBP) or inmates and prisoners of Class IIA Salemba Prison, Central Jakarta, received remission on August 17, 2025, including Gregorius Ronald Tannur.

Based on data compiled by VOI, 1,630 inmates and detainees consist of 1,619 prisoners and 11 prisoners.

Meanwhile, 1,519 WBP Salemba Class IIA Prisons that received remission came from narcotics crimes, human trafficking, corruption, general crimes, terrorism and money laundering.

Narcotics convicts who received remission amounted to 974 people, human trafficking 2 people, 16 corruption crimes, 512 general criminals, zero terrorism and 15 money laundering convicts.

The Head of Salemba Prison, M. Fadil, said that the remission was carried out at the Class IIA Salemba Prison, Central Jakarta on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

Giving remissions is a form of state appreciation to inmates who behave well and take seriously coaching.

"Of the 1,630 inmates 1,519 of them received general remission of independence," he told reporters.

In addition to general remissions, 1,555 inmates received decade remission.

The remission was given to prisoners who were sentenced to prison and confinement, including imprisonment/prisonment as a substitute for criminal fines in prisons.

"A total of 1,555 people have received decades of remission," he said.

According to him, the main requirement for prisoners who want to get remission is to behave well. This is evidenced by the note that in the last six months before the date of granting remission, prisoners are not serving disciplinary punishment.

Not only about attitude, remissions are also only given to prisoners who have served more than six months in prison.

So, the new prisoner who has not passed the time has not been able to apply for a reduced sentence.

"For prisoners who are convicted of committing criminal acts of terrorism, apart from the above requirements, there are additional requirements, namely having participated in the deradicalization program," he said.

The names of prisoners with cases that attracted national attention were Gregorius Ronald Tannur.

Gregorius Ronald Tannur is the son of an official who was in the spotlight for the murder of his girlfriend, Dini Sera Afriyanti (29). The murder incident occurred last October 2023 in Surabaya, East Java.

Then other prisoners who received remission were John Kei, Ahmad Fathanah, Shane Lukas, Edward Soeryadjaya, Windu Aji Sutanto and Ervan Fajar Mandala.

They got a three-month prison period reduction or 90 days.

Meanwhile, convicts who were caught in the lead corruption case of PT Timah Tbk, Alwin Albar and Emil Ermindra were confirmed not to have received remission.

Previously, it was reported that the Director General of Corrections (Dirjenpas) of the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Kemenmipas), Brigadier General Mashudi, led the reading of remissions for correctional inmates (WBP) at the celebration of the 80th centralized RI Anniversary at the Class IIA Salemba Prison, Central Jakarta, Sunday, August 17, 2025.

"General remission on August 17, 2025, this is a total general remission of 179,312 people throughout Indonesia. As for the decade remission, a total of 192,983 people were all," Brigadier General Mashudi told reporters.
