Vadel Badjideh Trial Continues To Witness Examination Relieves

JAKARTA - The trial of the case that ensnared Vadel Badjideh was again held. The trial, which is scheduled to examine criminal expert witnesses, was finally followed by the next agenda, namely examining fact witnesses or mitigating Vadel Badjideh.

Oya Abdul Malik, Vadel Badjideh's attorney, revealed that this was done because the Public Prosecutor (JPU) felt that the facts of the existing trial were sufficient, so that expert witnesses from their side were not presented.

"Earlier, the Public Prosecutor stated that today there should be a criminal expert witness, but he was not presented because he said he saw that the facts of the trial were sufficient. So, he was not present from the witness today," said Oya Abdul Malik at the South Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, July 30.

With the cancellation of witnesses from the prosecutor, the agenda for the next trial is to hear the testimony of witnesses from Vadel's side. Oya stated that she would present factual witnesses, including the possibility of the family.

"(Further agenda) Witnesses from us, yes. Witnesses will have fact witnesses, presented. Maybe there will be witnesses from the family as well. We'll see later. There are some that we will present as fact witnesses," he explained.

However, what caught the most attention was the signal of a 'secret' witness who, if willing to attend, would make the trial very exciting.

"Saksi fakta mungkin ada dari keluarga, tapi ada juga yang bukan dari keluarga. Belum bisa saya sampaikan. Jadi boleh bertunggu, saksinya kalau hadir, kalau mau hadir, semangat serang," lanjut Oya Abdul Malik.

He also gave a lattice that made the public even more curious about the key witness figure.

"If he is willing to attend, everyone knows him and what is certain is that he knows about the case," he said.

Vadel Badjideh plans to present a total of five witnesses to relieve his client. "The facts may be, God willing, three, two expert witnesses," said Oya Abdul Malik.
