JAKARTA - The Regent of Indramayu, Lucky Hakim, launched an innovative policy by launching Car Free Night (CFN) and Car Free Day (CFD) for three consecutive days in a week.

This policy is expected to be able to encourage people to live a healthier life and at the same time be a driver of the people's economy.

"I deliberately launched Car Free Night and Car Free Day for three consecutive days in a week, motivating people to have a lot of physical activities, exercise, living a healthy life," said Lucky Hakim when contacted by reporters, Sunday, July 6.

More than just a sporting event, Lucky said that this activity also aims to encourage the people's economy and provide social space for the people of Indramayu to express and relax.

"Generating the people's economy, MSMEs, street vendors, as well as giving space to the community to enjoy the atmosphere without cars and motorbikes, children running around without worrying," he continued.

One of the interesting events in Car Free Night is Indramayu Luruh Talent, which is an open stage for talent search for young Indramayu.

"Here (Car Free Night) there is also the agenda of Indramayu Luruh Talent, such as a talent search event, Indramayu's young people are given the opportunity to express their talents on the open stage witnessed directly by the audience," he said.

"They compete also to get the chance to become monthly champions and will reach the best annual champions, as well as we work with National TV Stations to show their performance for the best participants," said Lucky Hakim.

He emphasized that this initiative was not due to traffic jams, but to increase the circulation of money and open up business opportunities in the community.

"We initiated Car Free Night not to overcome traffic jams because there were no traffic jams in Indramayu, this is an effort to increase the circulation of money, revive the economy, advance MSMEs, business opportunities," he explained.

Public enthusiasm for this program can be seen clearly, with high visits from both local and out-of-town residents.

"Small traders are also happy to get many buyers who have gathered to visit CFN and CFD, even though they have just been launched but have immediately reached the hearts of the Indramayu people and there are even some visitors who come from outside the city," he said.

"From the elderly to the children, gathering and together, enlivening Indramayu CFN, CFD encouraging each other in harmony, some practicing karate on roads, skateboards, drumbands, basketball and others," said Lucky Hakim.
