JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) supports the national program of Free Nutrition Food (MBG) through providing training and integrated kitchen management assistance to Indonesian Development Drivers (SPPI).
Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana during her visit to Poltekpar NHI Bandung, West Java, Wednesday (18/06/2025), said that her party was in synergy with the Ministry of Defense and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) to provide kitchen management training for the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) to 1,600 students on June 11-24, 2025 at Poltekpar NHI Bandung, West Java.
"We are preparing a young generation of Indonesia who are tough, skilled, and ready to contribute in various lines. Including from behind the kitchen as a place for healthy nutrition, food security, and the start of the spirit of service," said Widiyanti.
Widiyanti explained that the participants who took part in this training had been selected and educated to be able to become competent managers or kitchen heads. In this training, participants not only learn food processing techniques, they also forge various other skills such as managerial, leadership, and community service.
According to him, the selection of the NHI Bandung Poltekpar as a learning location for SPPI proves that this tourism school is an important pillar in producing superior tourism, competent, and dedicated human resources (HR).
On this occasion, the Minister of Tourism also conveyed the need for support from various parties ranging from Ministries/Institutions, Regional Governments, academics, to the public in the success of the National Food and Free Nutrition program to open access to healthy nutrition for the people.
"Everything boils down to a noble mission, which guarantees the fulfillment of the nutritional rights of every nation's children. I believe in collaboration like this, we can move together towards a healthier, more resilient, and prosperous Indonesia. Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045," he said.
On a similar occasion, the Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, appreciated the initiative of the Ministry of Tourism and the Defense University (IDU) for collaborating on the implementation of integrated kitchen management training to SPPI. According to him, this program is very important to strengthen the human resources of kitchen managers who will later manage the kitchen providing food for the MBG program.
"Once they graduate, we will distribute (the SPPI graduates) throughout Indonesia to establish nutritional counseling units throughout Indonesia so that a minimum of 30 thousand nutritional service units in Indonesia will be formed that serve 82.9 million beneficiaries. Starting from pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, toddlers, and all school children including students and other religious schools," said Dadan.
The Rector of the Defense University, Lieutenant General (Ret.) Dr. Anton Nugroho, added that his party realizes that good food security and nutrition management are important foundations in building more comprehensive national resilience. Therefore, collaboration and synergy between the Defense University and the Ministry of Tourism and BGN need to be strengthened in the success of the MBG program.
