Indonesia Fashion Week 2025 Officially Opened, Present 200 Local Designers With The Theme Ronakultura Jakarta

JAKARTA - Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) will be held again in 2025, precisely at the Jakarta Convention Center, from May 28 to June 1, 2025. At this year's event, IFW carries the theme Ronakultura Jakarta.

At the opening ceremony of IFW 2025, the Nanda Abnon Dance by Theater Abnon was presented, which is in line with the theme being carried. Through the theme Ronakultura Jakarta, it is hoped that it will be able to show how the local culture and identity of Jakarta is, as well as being an inspiration for artists.

"Fashion is not just a display, but a form of cultural expression and identity. Through Ronakultura, IFW 2025 wants to show how Jakarta is in the process of being an inspiration as well as a stage for creativity and continues to evolve to form an identity," said the chairman of the Association of Indonesian Fashion Entrepreneurs and IFW President, Poppy Dharsono, at her 2025 IFW Opening Ceremony at JCC Senayan, on Wednesday, May 28.

The Indonesian Ministry of Trade really appreciates the Indonesia Fashion Week event. Deputy Minister of Trade of Indonesia, Dyah Roro Esti, said that the theme raised could make creative designers combine traditional and modern design elements.

"This is an event that is increasingly showing how rapidly the development of the fashion industry is. This theme reflects how designers, industry players we are creative with traditional elements with a touch of modern design innovation," said Dyah Roro Esti.

Dyah Roro also stated that the IFW event with the theme Ronakultura Jakarta also shows that Indonesian fashion is not just a trend. Fashion Indonesia is intended to reflect cultural values that should be popularized in the global market.

"This shows the world that Indonesian fashion is not just a trend, but also a reflection of cultural values," he continued.

Meanwhile, at the Indonesia Fashion Week 2025 event, there were 200 local designers participating. There are also 200 tenants from all over Indonesia with programs including fashion shows, trade exhibitions, talk shows, creative forums, entertainment performances, and culinary offerings.

At the opening ceremony, there were also fashion shows from several brands. Starting from fashion shows Lilit Melikyan (Armenia) and Angelina Melikyan (Armenia), Rajarezza (Malaysia), Misan Kopakas (Indonesia), Nanie Rachmat (Indonesia), and Parade Busana.
