Baskara Mahendra's Story Learns Mandarin In The Film Assalamualaikum Beijing 2

JAKARTA - Actor Baskara Mahendra admitted that he was enthusiastic and challenged by his new role as Mo in the film Assalamualaikum Beijing 2: Lost In Ningxia which requires him to speak Mandarin.

"(Learning the mandin language) It's definitely very happy to be involved because this is a challenge that is also not easy," said Baskara Mahendra in the Thamrin area, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, May 20.

In the film, Baskara plays the character of a man who has lived in China for a dozen years. Therefore, Mandarin-language efficacy is an important part of the soul of his character.

"Moreover, I'm here to learn mandarin because in my story I've been in China for a dozen years, so my character, papa, Sabrira is fluent in the mandin language. And that's just a challenge that's a pleasure for me," he said.

Accepting the role offer is a valuable experience for Baskara. Instead, he feels motivated to accept new challenges in acting.

"So because there is an offer like this, it becomes a challenge, instead it wants to be tried, I want to know, and hopefully the results are good. It's really good there," said Sherina Munaf's ex-husband.

Not only about roles, but the experience of shooting in Xian, China also left a deep impression on Baskara. He did not expect the atmosphere and environment there to be so attractive.

"It's not expected if it turns out that the landscape is really good and the people are very friendly too, and also we may almost all be the first time yes and we are all quite surprised by how neat it is, how clean it is," he said.

The experience of almost a month filming in the bamboo curtain country made Baskara feel at home and want to come back.

"And that makes us feel at home, how come we want to go back again, even though we've been there for almost a month but want to go back there," he concluded.

The film Assalamualaikum Beijing 2: Lost In Ningxia is targeted to start airing on June 19. Apart from Baskara Mahendra, this film will feature the acting of Yasmin Napper, Emir Mahira to Ferry Salim.
