Paula Verhoeven Prepares To Appeal Baim Wong

JAKARTA The polemic of divorce between Paula Verhoeven and Baim Wong has entered a new chapter. Paula's party through her attorney, Alvon Kurnia Palma, stated that she was considering further legal steps by filing an appeal against the decision of the South Jakarta Religious Court.

"Yes, we are thinking about it (submitting an appeal)," said Alvon in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, Sunday, April 20.

According to Alvon, his party is still within the grace period given by the court to declare an appeal.

"This is given time, right, 2 weeks to declare (a comparison). We are in the process. And after that we will make a memo appeal," he continued.

On the other hand, Baim Wong had asked Paula Verhoeven not to file an appeal. He admitted that he did not want to complicate the legal process regarding child custody.

"I said no need, what is the appeal for? I have already said, I will give custody of the children for both of us. Poor children, come back again if you all watch, this is not about fighting over children," said Baim at the South Jakarta Religious Court, Wednesday, April 16.

For Baim, any evidence submitted at trial is sufficient to prove that their domestic relationship must end.

"When the proof exists, what else? Hopefully the results will indeed match what I expected," he said.
