Realizing That He Has Bad Career Traces, Marshel Widianto Changes For The Sake Of His Child

JAKARTA - Comedian Marshel Widianto expressed his concern about how his children will see his career and personal life. He realized that in the digital era, the traces of the past will be easily accessible, including by his own family.

"Moreover, if it's not family, that's it. These are the answers that I'm preparing, that's it. If for example, when my children already know the internet, that's it. Seeing his father who bought videos, star syndrome, and so on," said Marshel Widianto in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, Friday, March 21.

Marshel admits that he has not found the right answer if one day his son questions various things about his past.

"When he (my son) asked, what would I answer? And the answer is still not there, that's it. So it's like that's the thing I want to subtract," he continued.

For Marshel, reducing the burden of questions from his children in the future is one of his motivations to change for the better.

"Let's not have a lot more homework for me to answer questions later when my son asks, that's it. My father is like that? That's how it is," he explained.

Marshel also emphasized that he wanted to maximize his efforts in changing his image, especially as a comedian who was labeled negative by some people.

"That's right, yes, I really want my time to change everything, that's it. Because it's really been branded, that's it. Who are artists in Indonesia, that's it. Especially stand-up comedians, I'm just like that," said Marshel Widianto.

More than just changing the stigma in the eyes of the public, Marshel wants this change to have a positive impact on himself and those around him.

"So I want to change the stigma so that it can be even better. Not for other people, but more for myself, that's it. Because when I do this to myself, so other people will be affected," he said.
