JAKARTA - Homecoming to your hometown is a tradition that many people have been waiting for during Eid. Long journey can be a pleasant experience if well prepared, especially in choosing a safe and comfortable mode of transportation.

The director of transportation of Tiket.com, Andi Hendrawan, at a press conference in Jakarta, stated that Lebaran was a special moment to look forward to. Therefore, various preparations must be made so that trips to his hometown run smoothly, including choosing the right mode of transportation.

"One of the important things that must be considered is the selection of transportation. It is better to order tickets early because the holiday schedule is usually predictable," said Andi.

In choosing the appropriate transportation, Andi suggested that people buy tickets or book seats from a long time ago. For those who already know the date of return, you should immediately order tickets through the application to avoid price spikes.

For example, employees who receive leave from March 24 to April 8, 2025 due to the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy or students who start taking holidays on March 21, 2025, can take advantage of this opportunity to buy tickets early.

"That way, we can avoid an increasingly expensive price and get tickets that are in accordance with the budget," he added.

Another tip that Andi conveyed was choosing the type of transportation based on the number of family members and the distance to travel. If traveling with a large family and a fairly long distance, such as interprovincial travel on the island of Java, using a train can be the right choice so that the trip is more comfortable and can still communicate with other family members.

In addition, many travel service providers offer attractive promos that can make travel more efficient. Utilizing these promos can be a solution so that the cost of going home is more efficient.

"Finally, don't forget to prepare the equipment needed so that the homecoming trip is more comfortable and fun," said Andi.

The Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, added that the public also needs to pay attention to weather forecasts from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) so that the trip remains safe and comfortable.

"Uncertain weather can affect travel. Therefore, it is important to always check weather information before leaving so that trips are not disturbed," said Made.

In terms of safety, people who choose to use buses or other land vehicles are advised to ensure that the driver does not drive for more than six hours without rest. This is important to maintain safety during the trip.

According to him, the security aspect must be a priority so that Lebaran homecoming feels more comfortable. "Our main goal is to get to their hometown safely. If security is not guaranteed, the homecoming experience can be less enjoyable even though tickets are cheap," he said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transportation through the Transportation Policy Agency (BKT) has conducted a survey regarding the potential movement of people during the 2025 Eid homecoming season.

Based on the results of a survey in collaboration with Litbang Kompas, it is predicted that the number of travelers this year will reach 146.48 million people or around 52 percent of the total population of Indonesia.

The Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, revealed that the peak of the homecoming flow is predicted to occur on March 28, 2025, with an estimated movement of 12.1 million people. This phenomenon is driven by a Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy that allows more people to travel earlier.

Meanwhile, the peak of backflow is expected to occur on D+5 Lebaran or April 6, 2025, with an estimated number of travelers reaching 31.49 million people. Through the surge in movement, careful homecoming preparation is the key to ensuring safe and comfortable travel for all travelers.
