JAKARTA - If you hear the name castor oil or distance oil, the first thing that occurs is for hair fertility. But apparently, this natural ingredient can moisturize dry skin, reduce wrinkles, and cure irritation.

A dermatologist, Morgan Rabach, MD argues that oil castor is a moisturizer for skin, hair, and nails, and can be used on its own or with other products.

"I will not recommend it for people with skin prone to acne, because oil will enter the pores and clog it, thereby aggravating acne. The moisturizing effect is beneficial for cracked lips and very dry hands and feet in winter. There are several reports that the cassor oil has some anti-inflammatory properties, although it has not been tested or proven for sure," explained Dr.Rabach.

Although dermatologists warn that the claimed benefits of distance oil have not been proven through research, herbal education specialist Katie Pande still believes that distance oil can help overcome skin problems, especially when applied.

Castor oil is believed by some to be the answer against signs of aging without serum or injection. To help moisturize the skin, Pande advises you to dip a small cotton ball into the distance oil, then apply it to your skin before going to sleep.

Castor oil is believed to be able to help accelerate hair growth, so this oil is a favorite as an eyebrow serum and homemade eyelash.

"For longer eyelashes, replace your eye makeup with distance oil and clean the mascara you use while letting oil distance coat your eyelashes gently, lengthen and protect them," Pande said.

Not only protecting the skin from wrinkles and accelerating hair growth, the oil castor is also traditionally used because of its properties that cure dry skin, eczema, dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis, and other skin conditions.

"Inflamed waves really need distance oil," Pande said.

Castor oil contains fatty acids and anti-inflammatory properties that can help prevent hair loss. Although claims of oil castors that can increase hair growth have not been proven in scientific research, there is evidence to suggest that oil castors can prevent loss in the future.

Castor oil is a natural oil rich in risinoleic acid. This unsaturated fatty acid has natural antibacterial properties. Because of its nature, distance oil is also believed to hydrate the skin and fight bacteria at the same time.

Filled with complete acid content, distance oil can help keep hair strong and healthy and delay the appearance of feared branched hair. In fact, a 2022 study found that the oil castor increased the hair glare.
