Jason Statham Continues The Beekeeper 2, Timo Tjahjanto Becomes Director

JAKARTA - The Beekeeper film is confirmed to have a sequel and the main cast, Jason Statham will return to his role. Timo Tjahjanto was appointed director for his second film written by Kurt Wimmer.

The Beekeeper film directed by David Ayer tells the story of an intelligence agent who takes revenge after someone close to him becomes a victim of fraud from an organization he manages.

Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, the film also stars Emmy Raver-Lampman, Josh Hutcherson, Bobby Naderi, Phylicia Rashad, Jemma Redgrave, and Jeremy Irons. So far, only Statham has been confirmed to join the sequel.

Initially, David Ayer was projected to work on his second film, but he is currently working on the film The Heart of the Beast, played by Brad Pitt and JK Simmons.

Timo Tjahjanto, a director from Indonesia then takes the position of director and production will begin in the coming fall.

This is the second sequel that Timo has worked on after working on Nobody 2, played by Bob Odenkirk and Sharon Stone. The film Nobody 2 which has finished filming will hit theaters in August this year.

Previously, he worked on several films for Netflix, namely The Night Comes for Us, The Big 4, and The Shadow Strays which were released in 2024.

The film is also Jason Statham's latest work in addition to working on A Working Man and Mutiny.
