Simple Elegan Ala Old Money, Ayu Dyah Andari Reveals The Trend Of Lebaran Clothing This Year

JAKARTA - Local Muslim fashion designer Ayu Dyah Andari revealed that this year's Eid clothing trend tends to lead to the style of old money.

According to him, nowadays people tend to choose clothes in a more conservative direction than showing an excessive expressive side.

"This year's Eid clothing trend, if I see people getting simpler, more elegant, old money style. The expressive side of people may be a bit suppressed. I see people are now getting more in that direction, yes, it's getting more conservative because it looks more expensive," said Ayu when met at the 2025 MUFFEST event, Thursday, February 20.

He explained that this style emphasizes an elegant impression without having to be striking, by using safe colors such as brown, white, blue, with a touch of maroon.

"The calm colors that don't want to show 'hello I'm here'. Old money style is a person who doesn't want to appear in the midst of many people and screams, he wants to be in a notice elegantly," he said.

In the selection of clothes, suits with tops and subordinates are more popular with the younger generation, while parents prefer a dress suit.

"Young people must be superiors and subordinates. Because I have invited several customers, most like young people who want pants, but their mother is dressed," he said.

Furthermore, he added that the Pashmina hijab model is still widely liked by women.

"What is certain is that Pashmina is still a person who likes it. Only now that people are getting more and more fond of pashmina, I see from the request at the boutique itself people who initially wore the paris hijab are now asking to leave the Pashmina," he said as quoted by ANTARA.
